Trips & Excursions
We believe that girls benefit enormously from the chance to go out of school. Both during term time and in the holidays the school offers an extensive range of educational visits.
Some of these visits specifically support an area of the curriculum such as the Lower 5 (Year 9) visit to The Trenches; Sixth Form field work visits to Wales and Suffolk for Geography and Biology; the frequent after-school theatre trips for English and Drama; the foreign language exchange visits to France, Spain and Germany.
Other foreign trips are offered simply for interest, and to take girls further into a subject, outside the set curriculum. Visits such as History trips to Berlin, Russia and Washington as well as Classics trips to Greece and Sicily and Art Trips to New York and Rome have been recent examples of this type of visit.
Some trips are performance related such as the bi-annual music tours to cities such as Venice, Barcelona and Salzburg. There have been Lacrosse tours to the USA, lacrosse tournaments in Spain and warm weather athletic training on Lanzarote.
We regularly visit venues closer to home such as the Museum of London, Tate Modern, Stanborough Lakes, Ivinghoe Beacon, Hampton Court and Windsor Castle.
