Kiko Matthews visited Habs this morning to speak at both Junior and Senior School Assemblies. She told us all about her world record for rowing across the Atlantic and what she went through on her journey. Her thoughts on resilience and leadership were so pertinent to all students and it was fantastic to hear about how she felt when she was undertaking her incredible solo effort.

At the end of assembly our Charity Prefects presented Kiko with a cheque for £6846.50, which will go towards the Critical Care Unit at King’s College Hospital. We are hoping to add to this total before the end of term with a mufti day on Wednesday.

Many thanks to all students, parents and supporters who sponsored students during the Habs 3000 Miles Challenge – Kiko made it clear that our donation will make a real difference and has helped her over her own fundraising target of £100,000.

Kiko isn’t stopping here, though. Her next mission is to raise awareness of plastic pollution and how we can all make a difference in reducing the amount of plastic we consume. We look forward to working with Kiko again in the future – she is an inspiration to all of us.
