The Lower 6 were challenged, inspired and stretched at their Leadership Day last Friday.  The day started with an address by Hannah Penn (Class of 2006). Hannah encouraged the students to develop their resilience so they could flourish in a modern ever-changing world.  She recommended treating feedback as a gift but reminded everyone that they were on their own journeys and should not judge themselves by others.  Also, it was much more important to be interested than to be interesting and students should nurture a curious predisposition to the world.  The students were challenged not to ask ‘why can’t I do this’ but rather ‘how can I make this work’?  Hannah described leadership as taking care of people in your charge.  With her inspiring words ringing in their ears the students moved onto to physical and cerebral challenges.  They finished the day tired but inspired.
