Last night we were treated to an evening of jazz from students across the senior school. The Jazz Band opened and closed the evening with numbers ranging from classic jazz standards such as Koehler and Arlen’s Stormy Weather to Norwegian synth-pop group A-Ha’s 1980s track Take On Me.

We were pleased to welcome students from Habs Boys’ School, who took part in a number of items, including as part of a five-part jazz group who played two pieces, including Charlie Parker’s Scrapple from the Apple. The concert also featured a number of solo vocal performances, including from Taliah Hammell and Jamila Salim, who performed with the Jazz Band.

Many thanks to Mr Phillips, the Music Department and all of the students involved for a great night of live music.
