Our Lower 6 students have spent their first week back at school, albeit in small groups of about 25 across the year. We asked them what it was like to be back at school and here are some of the responses.

Coming back into school has been strange because I’ve been so used to working and being productive at home. I’ve managed to get much more work done without many distractions but coming back into school made me miss the feeling of being with my friends and teachers and I’m really hoping we can go back to normal in September.

The remote learning programme is both engaging and thought-provoking. Although I do feel less confident in my understanding, the one-to-one live lessons and the booster sessions that will take place in September have, and will, allow me to gain further insight into my A-Levels.

Despite enjoying the flexibility that remote learning has given me me, from having time to bake to spending more time with my family, I was very eager to go back to school: even if it was just for four days before summer! Having washed our hands several times and remained two metres apart from my classmates, it was a chance for us to catch up and see each other in person. Our lessons have enabled us to ask any questions we had and consolidate our understanding of what we had studied at home, and lunchtime outside was a great way to enjoy the fresh air and each other’s company!
