Job Description

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified graduate to join our recently-established and forward-looking Computer Science department.

Computer Science is an increasingly popular subject at GCSE level where we deliver the CIE IGCSE Computer Science (9-1) course. There are also plans to develop the subject further in the Sixth Form.  The ability to program in Python or Visual Basic .NET (the main languages used by exam boards) at a competent level is required, although other programming languages will be considered.

The post will involve teaching Computer Science, Digital Literacy, esafety and ICT at various points across the range from Y7-Y13.  There will also be many opportunities for involvement in co-curricular STEM activities, for example: Robot Clubs, Raspberry Pi and Arduino activities.

All students up to Y11 and staff within the School are equipped with their own iPads for school use. The Computer Science department has a large, well-equipped computing suite and there are extensive IT facilities based in the Learning Resources Centre and other departments including two further full-size suites.

The post would be suitable for an experienced teacher and would offer opportunities for further career development.
