Congratulations to one of our Music teachers, Tim Scott, who has had a piece of music recorded on the latest release from the Charter Choir, Homerton College, Cambridge. The carol, The Angels All Did Sing, was composed in 2016, winning The Times’ Christmas Carol Competition. Mr Scott teaches Music across the school and is director of the school’s chamber choir, St Catherine Singers.

Richard Morrison, The Times‘ Chief Music Critic described the carol, as ‘the work of someone who has long experience of singing in choirs and who knows exactly what effects will work. With its ecstatic declamations of “Gloria” and its astringent harmonies, it will appeal to choirs that enjoy singing Christmas music by the likes of William Mathias or Richard Rodney Bennett.’

The carol was first performed by The Bach Choir at Cadogan Hall in 2016, a recording of which is included below.
