Mentalhealth.org has been organising Mental Health Awareness Weeks since 2001 raising awareness of body image issues, relationships, stress and so much more. This year, bearing in mind the current pandemic, the theme is kindness.

At Habs we are interpreting this as kindness to others and ourselves. This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and we kick-started things at Habs with all students receiving a link to an online 30 days of kindness calendar. Each day the students will receive an email either offering a suggestion for a random act of kindness, an inspirational quote or YouTube clip to watch.

In Section Assemblies the students will watch a PowerPoint about Mental Health Awareness Week and are encouraged to get involved with the national campaign through challenges, online fundraising or simply spreading kindness within their homes and their communities.

Kindness is central to our ethos at Habs and staff and students are very aware that kindness is inextricably linked to one’s mental health.
