Have you been missing theatre outings during lockdown?  The Drama Department have been working hard to ensure everyone can treat their family to a night at the virtual theatre. There is something for everyone on Drama Online and Digital Theatre + and Habs students can access these services via the School’s subscription.

Lower 4 and Upper 4 have been enjoying ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘wonder.land’ in Drama lessons, which are both in the National Theatre Collection on Drama Online, and the Drama team recommend ‘Treasure Island’, ‘Jane Eyre’, ‘One Man, Two Guv’nors’, ‘Frankenstein’ and ‘Small Island’, all in the NT Collection.

For those studying Classics they can check out ‘Medea’ or ‘Antigone’. ‘Dara’ looks at the 17th century dispute that shaped modern day India and Pakistan, there’s Lorca’s ‘Yerma’ for the Spanish students, and a plethora of riches to support English students – Shakespeare, Chekhov, Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller and so much more.

Digital Theatre + have added some exciting plays lately – Gecko’s productions of ‘Institute’ and also ‘The Wedding’ are there, Arts Award and Drama students may have done their workshop or seen The Wedding when it came to Watford Palace? They’re a Suffolk-based very exciting physical theatre company. Frantic Assembly’s ‘Things I Know to be True’, also ‘Lovesong’ are fabulous and very contemporary shows. If you enjoy a musical, Sondheim’s ‘Into the Woods’ & Irving Berlin’s ‘Holiday Inn’ are there too.

We encourage our students to go and explore what’s on offer.
