We entered four teams in this year’s BASE competition and one team was successful at being invited to the National Final which took place online. The successful team of Lower 6 students was led by Emma C and her team members were Hattie B, Katya I and Tamzin S.

The students watched presentations from key employers such as PwC and Deloitte, and took part in an online game. They didn’t win a prize but had fun throughout the competition and worked really well as a team.

Five thousand students took part across the UK from five hundred schools. There were twenty-four teams in the final so our team did really well to get that far, well done!

The BASE competition is the ICAEW’s free national business and accounting competition for 16-17 year olds across the UK. Students take part in team challenges; giving them an understanding of what it’s like to be an ICAEW Chartered Accountant whilst developing their key employability skills.
