On Tuesday 12 October, we were lucky to welcome Sasha Corbin to Habs Girls. Sasha is an England international netball player and plays for Hertfordshire Mavericks, having represented Hertfordshire Mavericks in the Netball Super League inaugural season. She has also played for Team Bath, Loughborough Lightning, Northern Mystics. She now runs her own company ‘Solo Sessions’ that features athlete and training programmes, encouraging young people to participate in sport, at home and in organised teams.

Sasha presented a motivational talk to Middle 5 students, covering topics such as goal setting, overcoming adversity and barriers in sport, resilience, and determination; she discussed balancing her business with a sporting career. Students engaged in a fantastic question and answer session before taking part in a netball skills session with the U14 and U15 netball squad players.

We were very privileged to have such an established netball player come deliver a session to our students; it was a fantastic opportunity for all students involved.
