On Thursday 11 November, 26 Lower 5 students from Habs Girls and Samuel Whitbread Academy attended a Careers in Computing event hosted at Habs and organised by the school with STEMPOINT East. Students took part in Crack the Code microbit coding and VEX robotics programming workshops and heard from STEM ambassadors currently working in computing at Goldman Sachs, Endava and UCL.

Students really enjoyed the day and commented that they enjoyed learning about the problems which coders come across and solve.  They particularly enjoyed meeting the friendly and inspiring STEM ambassadors and are now thinking of taking Computer Science for GCSE.

Teachers from Samuel Whitbread Academy commented that ‘the day has gone a long way in helping us to inspire the students to strongly consider Computer Science and STEM subjects in their forthcoming options process.’
