Just before February half term, the annual Girls’ School Jazz Concert took place which was a great success.

The concert ranged from solo items all the way to large Swing Bands, and students in all year groups were represented.  Four students from the Boys’ School joined us for this concert, playing in various groups and it was wonderful to hear and see this musical collaboration.  A new addition for this year was the Year 10 GCSE groups joining and forming their own Swing Band, to play ‘It’s Only a Paper Moon’ (see photo).  It was fantastic for the students to experience playing jazz which is part of their GCSE course.  The superb support from the audience for all the performers made for a really supportive and positive atmosphere.

All performers should feel very proud for producing such a high quality, engaging concert, well done!
