On the 14 November 2022, the Economics department at Haberdashers’ Girls’ School launched the Atherton Award.
The Atherton Award recognizes entrepreneurial spirit and all pupils aged 11+ are encouraged to apply. From completing an online coding course, to inventing a new product, to starting a business.
The winner of the annual prize will receive a Trophy and 500GBP to go towards the next phase of their journey and a day of mentoring with Amber Atherton or someone in her network that might be more relevant to the individual winner. The ultimate goal of the award is to incentivise more young women in the UK to enter STEM careers and entrepreneurship.
