We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Claire Brown as the next Head of Habs Girls’ Junior School. During the selection process we were really impressed with Claire. She is an ambitious, highly experienced and passionate leader.
Mrs Claire Brown read Environmental Science at Newcastle University and is currently Head at Winton Primary School in Kings Cross, where she has been since 2011. Defying expectations, under Claire’s leadership her current school is now ranked in the top 1% of schools across the country for English and Mathematics by the Department of Education.
Having attended an all-girls school and with two daughters herself, Mrs Claire Brown has a deep interest in all-girls education. She is passionate about teaching and learning and believes that every child should experience a magical education which can only be achieved by continually nurturing teaching talent and supporting teachers to improve.
We look forward to welcoming Claire to our community. Mrs Claire Brown will report into the new Head of Habs Girls, Dr Hazel Bagworth-Mann and will take up her role at Elstree on 1 September 2023.
