St Catherine Singers joined with Ely Cathedral Girls’ Choir to sing Evensong at Ely Cathedral. The music included Christopher Robinson’s setting of the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis that he wrote specifically for the Ely Girls’ Choir and Fauré’s ever popular Cantique de Jean Racine.

We were delighted to work with Sarah MacDonald, Director of the Ely Girls’ Choir and at Selwyn College, Cambridge, who put the Singers through their paces and it was wonderful to make such a big sound in the wonderful acoustics offered by the cathedral.

Many thanks to the team at Ely for their warm welcome and congratulations to the singers from both Habs and Ely for producing such a stirring performance during Evensong. You can listen to extracts from the pre-service rehearsal by clicking on the links below.
