We welcome the publication of the long-awaited Second Edition of the Girls’ School’s very own History Magazine: Habs History. The theme for this year is ‘technology and history’. There are many fascinating articles and ideas in there, as well as the results of this year’s history poll.

There have been a wide range of contributors from across the school. Be inspired and provoked by some great debates and controversies, and some really original ideas. Read the thoughts of our contributors, and then carry on the debate!

  • Maddy Sinclair looks at how changes in technology have changed human beings’ conceptions of themselves
  • Anisha Pick unearths some bizarre and incredible technologies used in espionage during the Cold War
  • Yael Katz asks whether books have been the most important technology in history

Many thanks to our editorial team of Anisha Pick, Lydia Berlioz, Madison Sinclair, Tabitha Dresden, Lauren Amdor and Pari Zelin for all their work on the magazine.  Thanks also to the other students who have contributed fantastic articles.

We hope you enjoy reading them as much as we did!
