This week Miss Percy’s Lower 4 class have been finding the speed of sound using toilet rolls.
Following instructions from the National Physical Laboratory, Lower 4 have been using their iPads, headphones and toilet rolls to find the speed of sound. The speed of sound in air is generally given as 330 to 340 m/s and some of the results using this method have been accurate.
Disclaimer – these were unused toilet rolls!
