This week in lockdown, our Art for Medics students learnt about muscle and bone structure by drawing with face paint on their arms and faces or on printouts.  We even had a Habs mum as a model!

Despite all the challenges of remote teaching and learning it’s good to see the work (and the fun) continues.

Art for Medics is an enrichment course for sixth formers that helps aspiring medics think about the human body in 3D.  Aspiring medical students from both the Girls’ and Boys’ School are equipped for interviews at medical school with some examples of their manual dexterity and creativity, and evidence that they have not spent all their time looking at 2D screens.  Real patients are three dimensional after all!  Producing some form of art demonstrates their ability to think around problems and find creative solutions.
