From the beginning of the current crisis I have read and seen our unsung NHS heroes put themselves in the way of danger to work night and day to try and keep us safe. These heroes include the incredible nurses, hospital porters, doctors, ambulance drivers among many others.
As we went into yet another lockdown this year, I wanted to do my bit to support our NHS heroes. To that end, every weekend my family and I make 250 sandwiches for the charity, ‘You Donate, We Deliver’. All the food is fresh and delivered on the same day to paramedics and ambulance drivers across London.
It is indeed hard work and a team effort, but it is so worth it when you hear how it is deeply appreciated by those receiving the sandwiches.
