Congratulations to our Geography department who are are delighted to have been awarded with the Secondary Geography Quality Mark.
This is a prestigious award, which recognises quality and progress in geography leadership, curriculum development and teaching in schools. Over the past 18 months the Geography department have been submitting evidence to the Geographical Association.
The structure of the award required departmental activities which brought teaching and learning to the fore. The department had to reflect on what was already in place and prioritize any changes for the future. Where additional work was needed, this became highly focused and was backed up by a clear rational.
Geography is a hugely popular subject at Habs with a large number of students taking the subject at both GCSE, A Level and degree level. This popularity and the award success is a testament to the expertise and dedication of the department. Congratulations once again!
